What is Pack Motorsports FSAE?

Formula SAE is a student engineering competition organized by SAE International, where university teams design, build, and race small formula-style race cars. Pack Motorsports FSAE competed for the first time in 2000. The car employed a tube-frame chassis, naturally aspirated Honda F3 motor, and no aero package. It would go on to win the award for Rookie Of The Year and finish 17th out of 104 teams. Since then, a lot has changed. As of 2025, we run a 4-cylinder Kawasaki ZX-6R 636cc motor, custom dry-sump oiling system, a complete carbon fiber aero package (with DRS), and much more.

We are also currently in the manufacturing stages of our second Electric Vehicle (EV) with the goal to compete in the 2025 FSAE EV competition. The addition of EV competition has contributed to the growth of our overall team in recent years.

Our team is now over 60 strong, with all levels of knowledge, know-how, and experience. However, no prior skills or knowledge are needed. All prospective members go through either machine training or electronics training before being selected to join the team. Through your time on this team, you will constantly be learning, taking on bigger and more complex projects, and growing soft skills, all while balancing a full school schedule, internships or co-ops, and making many new friends while at the shop.

We hope to see you around the shop soon, until then, GO PACK!

PM-25

Building on PM-24's foundation, our latest car is engineered with a focus on reliability and extensive testing. We are currently developing our Kawasaki Zx6r engine, full aerodynamic package coupled with DRS, carbon A-arm suspension, and more changes as the year goes on. With these improvements, this car is set to be a proven contender on the track!

PM-25 E

Currently in the manufacturing phase, PM-25E will be our second Electric Vehicle (EV) produced. It utilizes a single Emrax 228 in-board motor, custom 18650 segments, and Orion BMS. These components along with what we learned from our first EV leaves us excited to see how PM-25E performs in the 2025 FSAE EV competition.
